Product Designer (Part Time)

Literably is a fast-growing education technology company that provides early literacy assessment software. Using our product, K-12 students read out loud, generating data for reading instruction that would otherwise be collected manually. This saves teachers and administrators enormous amounts of time and offers the insights needed to drive critical intervention decisions for young readers. We currently serve over 600 schools, and among our customers are several of America's largest school districts, including Orange County Public Schools and Spokane Public Schools.

We are looking for an outstanding product designer to help us redesign our product’s visual identity. Upcoming projects that you would lead include redesigning our navigation bar, redesigning the teacher “class dashboard”, and working with developers and customers to gather requirements for graphical representations of student data. We believe people do their best work when they have autonomy and ownership. To achieve this, we are looking for the following:

  • Experience working as a solo-designer or on a small design team (2-3 people) at an early stage startup.
  • Experience independently synthesizing competitor research, developer constraints, and customer interviews into easy to navigate designs.
  • Familiarity with the UX of EdTech (Amira, iReady, and MAP are a few of our “neighbors” in the literacy assessment field)
  • Able to work remotely and independently.
